A new brand chocolate with sufficient features i.e. Hershey’s Kisses introduced on the candy scene in 1907. The name "kisses" is exactly originated from the "kissing" sound or motion created by the machines during the production of candy. In earlier Kisses were individually hand-wrapped. But in August 1921, an automatic kisses wrapping machines were developed, in which a single channel wrapper was placed. Since that time this wrapping process of the machine has remained unchanged. Today the modern wrapping machines can wrap up to 1,300 Kisses per minute.

Milton S. Hershey, the founder of this company, obtained a registered trademark for the "plume" or the familiar flag thin paper which can be added to the packaging in 1924. Although the shape and style of Hershey’s Kisses chocolates have not much changed as it was in the earlier, but there are small variations you will be found in this days. These variations were taken placed in the early 1900s subsequently to the 80s. Different techniques were implemented in chocolate making in these days which leads to the delicious standard Hershey’s milk chocolate candy.

Now there is no one to produce Hershey’s Kisses chocolates since 1931. No one is survived till date. The delicious history of this Hershey’s Kisses only can be recalled by r those old enough. There are varieties of Hershey’s Kisses chocolates produced such as Sweethearts, Silvertops, and Silverpoints which are extracted from candy history.

History says that there has been only one time interruption took place in the entire span of their production. After World War II, there was rare to be found of the bite-size chocolates which were not produced from 1942 to 1949 due to the rationing of silver foil. There were more than 3 billion military ration bar chocolate paste were produced during this war.

For the first time Kisses were wrapped in colored foil in 1962. There were different silver-wrapped colored chocolates like Red, green and silver chocolates were available during the Christmas season. Especially for the Easter holiday the Kisses brand chocolates were launched in pastel blue, pink and green foil in 1968. The introductions of Valentine’s Kisses with red and silver foil were amazing to taste and watch. Kisses with almonds were successfully introduced in September 1990. However there is no one to compete with the enduring place that the Hershey’s Kiss has made.
